FREE “VA S.A.V.E.” Training
 
The New Lenox Safe Community Coalition, in partnership with Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, is offering a FREE (virtual) training called VA S.A.V.E, which stands for:
 
Signs of suicidality
Ask the question
Validate their experience
Encourage treatment / Expedite getting help
 
“VA S.A.V.E” Training will help you act in an informed manner if you encounter a Veteran or Civilian that is in crisis or experiencing suicidal thoughts.  By taking this course you will:
 
  • Develop a general understanding of the problem of suicide in the United States;
  • Understand how to identify a Veteran who may be at risk for suicide; and
  • Know what to do if you identify a Veteran at risk.
 
This program will be held via Zoom videoconference on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.  Registration is being handled through Eventbrite via this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/free-va-save-training-tickets-819270769927?aff=oddtdtcreator  A link to the Zoom videoconference will be sent via email to everyone that registers.
