Spend the night in a box or tent and help raise awareness of the homeless.

MorningStar Mission invites you to join them for "Box City of Hope," a 14-hour special awareness and fundraising event for all ages Friday, September 11 - 12, 2015, at Galowich Family YMCA, 749 Houbolt Road in Joliet. (The event is held in a secure, supervised area.)

We plan on creating a temporary city. Guests will be invited to spend the night in a box or ten to show their support and to experience what is like not having a home of their own. This will provide great insight into the struggles that men, women and children face on a daily basis. You can participate as an individual, family (max 4 people) or group (10+ people). Sponsorships are also available.

Schedule of Events:
Friday, September 11
4 PM - 7 PM: Arrival/Set-Up/Check-In
5 PM - 7 PM: Scavenger Hunt
8:00 PM: Reality Speakers
8:30 PM: Family-Friendly Movie
10:30 PM: Lights Out!

Saturday, September 12
6 AM - 7 AM: Tear Down & Give Thanks for the Home You Return To.

Fees/Admission:
First decide if you'll participate as an individual, family or group. Then pick up your rental fee envelope at MorningStar Mission or register online at www.morningstarmission.org. You can either pay "Rental Fees" or obtain "Pledges" from others to sleep in a box or a tent. It's your choice. All proceeds benefit MorningStar Mission.

Rental Fees:
Children: $15 each (receive bracelet)
Adults: $20 each (receive bracelet)
Family of 4: $65 Total (receive 4 bracelets)
Groups of 10+: $10 each (each person receives bracelet)

Pledges (per person in lieu of rental):
Box Level: $25 - $50 Pledge (receive t-shirt & bracelet)
Blanket Level: $51 and up Pledge (receive t-shirt, bracelet & hat)
