The Katherine Malone Foundation is proud to present our third annual Katherine Malone Memorial Golf Outing to raise awareness to the importance of Living Organ Donation and how Living Organ Donors can help save lives. Katherine Malone, for whom our Foundation is named, passed away on June 4, 2021 at the age of 48 due to complications from end stage renal failure (ESRF). Katherine had been awaiting a life saving kidney transplant for nearly four (4) years.
We had 80 golfers last year and our goal this year is to grow our outing to 100 golfer!
We are also excited to announce that
Phillip O Hanks will deliver our dinner reception keynote address. Phillip is the recipient of a 5-organ transplant and will share his amazing story with us all as well as signing copies of his book, "My Story God’s Glory: The Story of a Walking Miracle."
Why Is Living Organ Donation Important?
- As of December, 2023, there are over 106,000 people on the organ transplant list awaiting a lfe-saving organ transplant
- One person is added to this list every 10 minutes (144 each day)
- 20 people day each day while awaiting a life saving organ transplant
- Average wait time on the list to receive an organ from a deceased donor is five (5) years and trending higher.
Help the Foundation make a difference by raising awareness around Living Organ Donation and the work the Foundation is supporting through efforts such as Legislative support for the eventual passage of "Katherine's Law" and our future documentary "Katherine's Journey.'
Registration is open and we have some great things planned for this years’ outing along with some new features:
